Thyon win sets up Classic Globe for Taylor

Telemark star continues record-breaking globe haul with classic title

Jaz Taylor secured the Telemark Classic Crystal Globe with a phenomenal performance at the Thyon 4 Vallees Classic World Cup this morning, taking victory by a margin of more than two seconds.

Racing in her fourth Classic World Cup of the season, Taylor completed a podium clean sweep having earlier taken third place in Al, second in Pra Loup and victory in Krvavec to leave her 68 points ahead of Augustine Carliez in the race for the Classic Globe and almost a hundred points clear of Kaja Bjoernstad Konow in third place in the standings.

Taylor’s Thyon victory came in a time of 1:52.93, 2.19s ahead of Norway’s Konow in second, with Argeline Tan Bouquet of France in third on the day 2.84s behind Taylor’s finishing time.

Victory in Thyon also sets up Taylor’s quest for back-to-back Overall Telemark titles with Sprint and Parallel Sprint races to go, while she also remains in the hunt for both remaining individual discipline Globes heading into the final World Cup races of the season.
