Brookes takes Big Air victory in Beijing

Mia Brookes recorded a fourth career World Cup victory as she finished top of the pile in this morning’s Beijing Freestyle Snowboard Big Air World Cup

Making her first appearance of the season, Mia breezed through qualification in first place before delivering the standout moment of the event in her second Finals jump, landing a perfect execution of her signature Cab14 to soar to the top of the standings ahead of the third run.

Mia’s score of 176.50 saw her finish ahead of Canada’s Hanna Karrer in second with 146.75, and Japanese rider Momo Suzuki whose 145.25 was good enough for third.

Kenworthy soars to podium on return to competition

Gus Kenworthy’s first competitive appearance since the Beijing Olympic Winter Games in 2022 yielded a remarkable return to the podium as he finished third in the China leg of the Halfpipe Snow League.

Kenworthy, whose last competitive podium came in 2020, looked in stunning form to progress to the Semi Final stage, before taking an automatic third place finish as his opponent in the third-place matchup, Nick Goepper, withdrew following a crash in his own Semi Final.
