When Dave was six years-old, his father Carl, a ski-mad lifelong enthusiast, encouraged him to take lessons at the local dry ski slopes near their home – so he joined Pendle Ski Club.

Dave specialises in the discipline of Slalom and has achieved nine British Slalom Titles, five World Cup podiums, was Europa Cup Slalom Champion 2012/13 and has competed at 4 Winter Olympic Games. Dave was the first British skier to win Alpine World Cup Gold in Kitzbuehel in January 2022.

An historic weekend for British snowsport saw Dave Ryding take the nation’s first ever Alpine World Cup win, while in Lillehammer the Para Snowsport Squad continued their remarkable run of form at the World Para Snow Sports Championships.
