Born and bred in the north east of Scotland, Alistair learned to ski on the dry slope in Aberdeen, before progressing into racing and eventually to international selection to the British Children’s Alpine Team. At 16, Alistair decided to pursue a career in snowsport and was selected to the Scottish Ski Team, before being paired as a guide to Hester Poole while studying at the University of Edinburgh.

Alistair is now an established ski instructor and race coach, and combines working towards his ISTD and university degree with his role in helping Hester to achieve her goals at the highest levels of the sport.
