Katie started skiing at the age of 5 on a golf course in Nethy Bridge, from there progressed to the slopes of Cairngorm Mountain and joined the Scottish Ski club. Following in her sister, Charlie’s  footsteps, Katie competed individually until 2015. During this time, she picked up some national titles whilst being selected for both the Scottish and British national teams.

Following her retirement, Katie was asked to step in as a temporary guide for Millie Knight for a weeks training camp. She loved this experience and agreed to become Millie’s reserve guide for the following 4 seasons.

In 2021, having completed her university studies, she teamed up on a full time basis with Menna Fitzpatrick and the two have since gone on to form a formidable partnership.
