“When I’m at my best, I’m capable of podiums” – Andrew Young
He’s a three-time Olympian and soon to be one of the stars of a new documentary on Norwegian TV. But as an introvert in the spotlight, Andrew Young won’t let anything distract him.
Andrew started skiing at the early age of 2. Through the Huntly Nordic Ski Club and British Nordic Development Squad he progressed into racing.
In the 2010 he moved to Norway to get better training conditions and more time on snow. He then focused mostly on sprint racing as a young senior athlete, before beginning to focus on both sprint and distance over the last few years. Andrew has been competing at World Cup level since 2008 and has podiumed 4 times at World Cup events.
Partnering with teammate James Clugnet, Andrew has also had great success in the Team Sprint event. The pair’s best result being an impressive 6th place at the World Ski Championships in Planica, SLO during the 2022-23 season.
