GBS selects eight athletes for Nordic World Junior and U23 Championships
Britain will be represented by eight skiers at the 2025 Nordic World Junior and U23 Championships, following a meeting of the Nordic Selection Panel last week.
The U23 Championship races will see Gabriel Gledhill, James Slimon, and Tabitha Williams compete across Sprint Classic, 20km Mass Start Classic, and 10km Interval Start Free races, while Elspeth Cruickshank, Thomas Duncan, Sophie Forth, Elke Hammerstein, and Ewan McAdam will follow the same programme of races through the Junior Championships.
Hosted by the Italian resort of Schilpario, the Championships’ first races are set for Monday 3 February with the Junior Sprint Classic, with the U23 Sprint Classic the following day. British competition is due to conclude with U23 Individual 20km F races on Saturday 8 February, before the Championships draw to a close on Sunday 9 February.
Along with the eight selected athletes, Logan Duncan also successfully met criteria for the Junior Championships, but has had to decline his position due to illness, while Rasmus Ipsen and Catherine Stow also met criteria but declined selection to the Junior and U23 squads respectively.
Everyone at GB Snowsport wishes the best of luck to the coming generation of British Cross-Country athletes.
