Cross-Country star rounds out year with stunning Stage World Cup performance
Andrew Musgrave brought the curtain down on 2024 with a spectacular third place finish at the 20km Interval F stage of the Tour de Ski Stage World Cup in Toblach.
The 34-year-old finished in a time of 44:33.7, 28.4s behind race leader Harald Oestberg Amundsen, and just 7.2 behind second placed Simen Hegstad Krueger, both of Norway.
The result leaves Musgrave sixth in the Tour de Ski standings, having finished 23rd in the 15km C Mass Start, and 62nd in the Sprint F stages.
Today’s podium gives Musgrave his fifth career World Cup podium, and the best Stage World Cup finish of his career to date.
Speaking afterwards, Musgrave said:
“I’m really happy! Today it was good skis, good body, and really looking forward to the next races in the Tour. The service team did a great job today – huge credit to them.”
Jostein Vinjerui, Cross country Head Coach, added:
“Today was a great performance by Muzzy. He’s felt strong lately, so I’m very happy for him that he gets a podium in the Tour. It’s a fantastic way to end 2024.”
