
The curtain has been raised on the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, as the Opening Ceremony officially marked the start of two weeks of world-class winter sport in Italy.
The ceremony celebrated unity, heritage and sporting excellence, bringing together athletes from across the globe as they begin their pursuit of Olympic glory.
With the flame lit and the Games officially open, attention now turns to competition, as our athletes prepare to make their first appearances.

Freeski Slopestyle Qualification – 9:30/13:00 GMT
Medal hope, Kirsty Muir takes centre stage as she competes in the Women’s Freeski Slopestyle qualification at her second Winter Olympic Games. Known for her signature creativity and precision, Muir will look to deliver under pressure as the qualifiers get underway. Expect big tricks as she aims to secure a place in the finals.
Later in the day, Chris McCormick will drop in for the Men’s Freeski Slopestyle Qualis as he looks to make his mark for his Winter Olympic debut.
Women’s Cross Country Skiing 10+10km Skiathlon – 12:00 GMT
