Mia Brookes nominated for Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year Award

Freestyle Snowboard superstar and reigning Snowboard Slopestyle World Champion, Mia Brookes, has been named on the shortlist for the Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year Awards.

Brookes, who shot to global prominence with her breathtaking victory in the Freestyle Snowboard Slopestyle contest at the Bakuriani World Championships earlier this year, is nominated alongside cricketer Alice Capsey, cyclist Emma Finucane, archery’s Penny Healey, motorsport star Abbi Pulling, and equestrian athlete Sophie Locking.

The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards have been a fixture in the British sporting awards calendar since 1988, with Brookes’ nomination putting her among illustrious company including former Young Sportswoman of the Year Award winners Laura Robson (tennis), Ellie Downie, Claudia Fragapane (both gymnastics), Becky James (cycling), and Dina Asher-Smith (athletics).

The winners will be announced on November 2, and everyone at GB Snowsport offers their warm congratulations to Mia for her nomination.
