GB Snowsport is recruiting for a Performance Coach – Para Snowboard to support the development of the World Class Para Snowboard team, with the ultimate aim of producing medal wining performances, aligned to the values and standards of GB Snowsport, at World Championships and Paralympic Winter Games. The role will work in collaboration with the Para Snowboard leadership team to create a medal winning, athlete first culture.

The role will be hired on a full-time ongoing basis, with a higher volume of hands-on performance and athlete facing work between October and April of each year, offset by lower average working hours during the off-peak season (May-September). A flexible attitude to working is needed, with willingness to work evenings, weekends, school holidays, and public holidays where required.

The Role

The Para Snowboard Performance Coach is expected to be proficient in all snowboard coaching methods, focusing on the disciplines of Banked Slalom and Snowboard Cross, and will work closely with the GB Snowsport Head Coach implementing those methods within the programme. The individual will be directly involved in all team training sessions, including off-snow programming, will be directly involved with the planning of team training programmes, and will actively direct Para Snowboard training within the context of the overall programme.

The successful applicant will possess a strong coaching background in relevant disciplines at an international level, and will be able to demonstrate experience in developing fundamental snowboarding skills and technical foundations. They will have experience working with Para Athletes and knowledge of how individual impairments can impact performance, and will possess the strong interpersonal skills required to build effective relationships with athletes, coaches, practitioners, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must hold a valid passport and have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, and must possess a valid drivers license.
