Purpose of the Roles
The GB Snowsport Marketing and Communications team is responsible for raising the profile of Britain’s high-performance ski and snowboard athletes and delivering tactical activities and communications that build awareness and familiarity with the work of GB Snowsport.
Content and Social Media Executive
The Content and Social Media Executive will play a hands-on role in the management of GB Snowsport’s content activities, including sourcing, editing, and delivering content across GB Snowsport’s owned channels, including the GB Snowsport website, and our social media presence.
The role holder will work closely with athletes, coaches, sponsors, and other GB Snowsport employees to help drive increased awareness during the key Milan-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games season.
Responsibilties Include:
- Create and execute social media content activities, including planned campaigns, reactive messaging, and in-season competition content;
- Manage and build out GB Snowsport’s content archive, ensuring all owned media is accurately documented, labelled, and accessible;
- Monitor GB Snowsport social media channels, identifying any potential reputational risks, and escalating where appropriate;
- Capturing UGC content on location on an ad-hoc basis;
- Work with other members of the GB Snowsport team including the Head of External Relations and Head of Partnerships on the execution of partnership marketing campaigns and sponsor activations;
- Build engagement with the community of online GB Snowsport fans and supporters;
- Support and deputise for the Communications and PR Executive.
Communications and PR Executive
The Communications and PR Executive will help to provide additional capacity in the management of proactive and reactive media engagement throughout the 2025/26 season, including during the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The role holder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders on the preparation, drafting, and delivery of written communications and PR materials, and the briefing and management of GB Snowsport’s media contact database.
Responsibilities Include:
- Draft regular in-season media briefings, providing regular updates to British and international media on GB Snowsport athlete performances, results, and achievements;
- Manage inbound press enquiries, through rigorous prioritisation and a clear understanding of GB Snowsport media messaging;
- Support athletes and GB Snowsport spokespeople with interview preparation, briefings, and logistics management;
- Craft communications for the GB Snowsport website and other owned channels where necessary;
- Compile weekly results snapshot summary throughout the season to be shared with GB Snowsport partners;
- Support and deputise for the Content and Social Media Executive.
Hours/Location
These are 35-hour-per-week roles offered on a flexible basis with an expectation of a minimum of one day per week at the GB Snowsport offices in central London. Alternative arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Please note, both roles will require evening and weekend work through GB Snowsport’s out-of-hours media and content rota. International travel is not expected to form a part of either role’s requirement, but occasional travel needs may arise.
Knowledge
- Some knowledge of GB Snowsport discipline(s) is preferred but not essential
- Understanding of current best-practice in sport communications, media, content, or social media will be important in the successful delivery of these roles
- Knowledge of British Olympic and/or Paralympic sport will be considered beneficial in these roles
Experience
- We are open to a range of backgrounds and experiences for these roles, but would particularly encourage applications from individuals with some experience of managing branded content, supporting or delivering PR and media engagement objectives in a sporting or non-sporting setting, business reputation management, or in-house or agency communications or marketing
