Brookes victorious again in Laax

Mia lands fourth consecutive World cup podium

Mia Brookes’ sensational form continued in dazzling style with victory at today’s Laax Open Slopestyle World Cup.

A first run score of 84.86 was enough to comfortably secure victory for Mia, ahead of New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski Synott who finished second with 77.29, and Kokomo Murase of Japan who finished third with 71.15.

Brookes’ victory marks a fourth consecutive World Cup podium and a fifth in total this season, while also marking her third World Cup win this season.

Brookes, who turns 18 tomorrow, is also the reigning Snowboard Slopestyle World Champion, and will be seeking to defend her title at the Freestyle Snowboard World Championships in March.

Speaking afterwards, Mia said:

“It’s so insane to win gold here in Laax, it’s unreal.

“I really had fun on this course, super grateful I won here, and just a real fun day.”

The Freestyle Snowboard season now heads to North America for the next block of World Cups and X Games.
