Atkin secures Freeski Halfpipe victory in Aspen

Spectacular first run lays foundations for gold medal-winning performance

Zoe Atkin finished first at the Aspen Freeski Halfpipe World Cup, securing a fourth podium of the weekend for GB Snowsport athletes in the process.

Leading the contest from her first run of the final with a massive score of 90.00, Atkin held off the competition of China’s Fanghui Li, who scored 88.50 on the final run of the contest. The podium was rounded out by Amy Fraser of Canada with a score of 86.75.

Victory provides Atkin with a second World Cup win of her career, and her first since 2019, as well as her second World Cup podium of the season following a second placed finish at Copper Mountain World Cup in December.

Atkin, 22, now boasts nine career World Cup podiums alongside two World Championship medals from 2021 and 2023.
