“It just made perfect sense for me to be a part of the team” – Matty Cox
As his transfer to representing Britain is confirmed, we caught up with Freestyle Snowboarder Matty Cox to find out a bit more about where it all began

Matty has been snowboarding since his father first put him on a board as a child in the hope that it would breed a love of surfing. While the passion for surfing certainly came to pass, Matty also found a deep love for snowboarding, and ended up competing for his native nation, Australia.
Qualifying for British representation through his father’s side of the family, Matty transferred to compete for GB Snowsport in 2023.
Matty qualified for and competed in both Big Air and Slopestyle disciplines at the Beijing Olympic Winter Games in 2022, and to date has three World Cup top-10s and a World Championships top-10 finish under his belt.
