Born in Lancaster to a Czech mother and English father, Jan first put on a pair of skis at the age of two, and began his competitive career in Alpine and Ski Cross before making the move to Speed Ski.

Jan’s first Speed Ski race came in 2011, and by 2014 he had taken the World Cup title and become the third fastest skier in history on downhill skis with a clocked speed of 210.035 kph.

After a period of injury, Jan will make his return to the World Cup circuit in the 2024/25 season.
