- Biography // Movement has always been a part of Gigi’s life - from her earliest experience of skiing as a toddler on a family holiday in France, to her serious passion for competitive racing as a mini, a teen in the school ski team and now in the GB Europa Cup Team. She balanced skiing and her other physical commitments to dance and gymnastics, whilst in full-time education in the UK. Only in her fi rst year FIS did Gigi fi nally attempt to race an entire season and though this was truncated by COVID, ironically it was lockdown and online learning that facilitated her ability to commit to education and sport, and engendered her love of speed - limited races meant she had to try everything! Now one of our few athletes who compete in all four disciplines, Gigi succeeded in winning the overall SAC cup in the 2024/25 season; she has her sights set on results on the Europa Cup tour this year, and is very much hoping that FIS brings back the Alpine Combined!! (Slalom and a speed discipline). All this whilst studying at Cambridge through their online programme.

GB Snowsport is disappointed by UK Sport’s decision to propose an alternative investment route for snowsport funding for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic cycle.
We remain fully committed to supporting our athletes in their performance endeavours.
We are hugely proud of everything that we have achieved over the past four years, not least the remarkable medal successes on the international stage culminating in Britain’s greatest ever Olympic Winter Games on snow in Milan-Cortina. Our athletes, staff, and sports have achieved incredible things on and off snow over recent years, and we firmly believe the system we have built together remains the most effective way to continue to support Britain’s snowsport athletes.
We do remain committed to continuing to work with UK Sport on these matters in a constructive way. However, we reserve the right to keep all options open to ensure that the achievements of the past four years are not lost as we approach another European Games.
We have recently concluded an independent governance review funded by UK Sport, which has confirmed that our governance standards remain strong and appropriate. We look forward to engaging fully and robustly in any new review, which we are confident will reach the same conclusions.
