British Paralympic legends joined by new World Class talent in Para Snowsport squad
Paralympic medallists Menna Fitzpatrick, Millie Knight and Kelly Gallagher joined by seven new athletes in 22 person Para Snowsport squad for 2021/22 season
Alex Slegg lost the use of his right leg in 2013 after an injury sustained whilst serving in the British Army required emergency surgery to remove herniated discs in his spine.
His first ever experience of skiing was through the Battle Back programme for wounded soldiers in 2016 during his four years of rehabilitation. He joined the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team in 2017. Taking the opportunity provided by AFPST, he set his sights on learning to ski race and compete at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2022. He entered his first international race in 2018 and has seen success in the following seasons with bronze, silver and gold medals while climbing the international rankings.
