Leonie started skiing when she was five years old in the French Alps, eventually moving permanently to Châtel in the Portes du Soleil ski area in 2006. She joined the Châtel/Evian Freestyle Club for the 2007/2008 season and has been a member ever since. The day she saw mogul skiers for the first time was the day she decided that that was what she was going to be. She is and always has been totally passionate about her chosen sport.
However, her journey has not been an easy one – Leonie has endured two knee operations, 3 shoulder dislocations plus surgery, a broken back and a herniated disc. She has worked tirelessly without ever losing focus to ensure she came back stronger than ever.
Leonie is now competing on the World Cup circuit always following her mottos “Never let your dreams go!” and “Never give up!”.
